In 2005, a group of immigrant women in Northern California’s Anderson Valley found themselves in a parenting class modeled after the quilting circles of earlier times.
The resulting artwork, made by women with no previous quilting experience, has shown locally, regionally, and nationally. The Gregg Museum Show, Textiles of Exile, was a great success. Look for Los Hilos at the Virginia Quilt Museum this fall.
Here in Anderson Valley the work continues. Please support it through donations of money or materials, the purchase of our book and DVD, or best of all, by buying one of these unique creations for your home.
